The design concept comes from the allure of dew drops. Spring is short but spectacular. This lamp helps people embrace the beauty of spring season, with the stand and diffuser in the shape of a leaf and dew. Aroma oils can be used along for stress relief and the covers in different colours change the light for specific mood enhancement.

The idea originates from a Chinese poem “Henbane” that depicts the amazing moments of moonlight shining through the clouds on flower petals. The luminous tulip demonstrates the strength of life that sprouts from the blackness of night, thus giving hope and opportunity. A laser beam is designed at the bottom section to reflect the vitality of light.

With a simple line structure, the design follows the concept of pop art to add a human touch and fun. This floor lamp can be placed at any corner of your home from the living area to dining area and bedroom. The flat lighting device is convenient to be installed and especially suitable for small interior spaces.

As the whisper of spring breeze wakes the earth, the globe-shaped seed clusters of the dandelion catch the wind to spread out and rekindle hopes. Warm light passes through this creative lamp’s white tubes to foster a relaxing and refreshing mood, allowing us to enjoy a leisurely pace of life at home.
Title: Fresh Wind
Designer Name: Mok Ching Man |
A cocoon gives birth to a butterfly that carries pollen from flower to flower helping the plants reproduce and grow. Flowers bloom in spring with the humble yet indispensable work of some important little creatures. In the shape of a cocoon, this lamp stands to appreciate the abundance of nature. Flipping on the switch is like turning on life.

This is a piece of light furniture that provides lighting and seating solutions. LEA literally stands for a meadow or field in poem. The concept is to enable people to lie down comfortably on this luminous fixture, imagining lying on a piece of wonderfully-lit up grassland and feeling the warmth of spring.

This innovative lamp is made with drinking straws that can be arranged in the shape of a flower. The do-it-yourself feature allows us to put together the straws in different forms. The design aims to enhance family cohesion by encouraging family members to work together and assemble the lamp. Customers can choose various colours of the straws to create unique lamps.

Hear What Judges Say
"We have come across a great variety of entries and some really interesting designs this year. The entries have generally demonstrated stronger originality and marketability than last year. A strong emphasis is also placed on environmental sustainability for lighting designs. There is always a need to examine the latest market trends and draw inspirations to produce appealing lighting solutions. With the popularity of LED, it makes sense to use this common light source for new designs and integrate it into our everyday life. I encourage all industry players and students to continue pursuing new designs with zeal and energy, and hence expand the presence of Hong Kong’s lighting designs in the international market."
Antony Chan, Chairman, Hong Kong Interior Design Association
"This competition provides an absolutely valuable platform for students and industry players to showcase their creativity and design strengths. The responses from students have been especially positive as there are more contestants in the Student Group. It will be good to see even more designers, producers and industry consultants invest resources and participate in the competition. We have found some high quality design works this year. I like the entries of the Student Group as contestants explore different possibilities like using drinking straws and LED for their designs. Finalists have produced some good ideas."
Victor Ng, Immediate Past Chairman, The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers – Electronics Division
"The entries of this year echoed the growing trend of LED lighting as most contestants chose this brighter and longer-lasting energy-saving lighting fixture to integrate into their works. This competition offered a golden opportunity for students and designers to turn their imaginative ideas into realities, it also let them gain valuable experience which could help develop their career. I am pleased to see that the contestants in the Student Group have come up with some interesting and creative ideas. Despite their limited experience in manufacturing procedure, they had overcome most of the technical hurdles in the process of production. I certainly hope to see this meaningful event grow further with stronger appeal to stimulate new ideas and promote originality."

| Key Buyers are Here! Hear What the Buyers Say |

“Tebisa Industries is an importer and distributor of LED lighting products for hotels in Malaysia. Apart from supplying LED lighting products, we also provide professional installation service. The demand for LED lighting is increasing because it saves more electricity than traditional energy-saving lamps and its prices are going down. As there are many three-star and budget hotels under construction in Malaysia, the market potential is huge. I visit the Hong Kong fair once a year to source new products. It is a good show where I can find a wide choice of high-quality LED lighting products. I have already found two to three potential suppliers. Before confirming orders, I’ll visit their factories on the Chinese mainland.”
Kenny Tey, General Manager, Tebisa Industries, Malaysia
“Founded in 1990, Circle World Corp is a distributor of Philips, OSRAM and GE lighting products in Taiwan, supplying LED lighting products to wholesalers on the Chinese mainland and in Hong Kong and Taiwan. LED lighting products are widely accepted in our markets because they are energy-efficient. Design, branding, quality and pricing are all important factors affecting our sourcing decisions. We visit the Hong Kong International Lighting Fair twice a year because of its convenient location and a great variety of products on offer. This year we are particularly looking for COB lighting controls. So far, we have found two to three potential business partners at the fair.”
Cabrera Chen, Manager, Circle World Corp., Taiwan |

“Established in 2003, Aversa Roberto offers classical lighting products which are all handmade in Italy. Our products include table lamps, floor lamps, wall lamps, ceiling lamps, chandeliers and lampshades which are exported mainly to ASEAN, the Middle East and Russia. We are happy to have our first-time participation in the Hong Kong fair. Consumers on the Chinese mainland and in Hong Kong like Italian styles, so we hope to promote our products in this region and establish business relationships with important buyers at this fair. Business atmosphere here has been quite good so far. Buyers from the Chinese mainland, Japan and Taiwan have expressed interest in our products. We expect to sign some contracts with buyers during the fair period.”
Roberto Aversa, Owner, Aversa Roberto, Italy
“With our production facilities in Zhongshan, Chinese mainland, we focus on developing LED lamps for commercial and household applications. Currently, our major markets are Europe and Southeast Asia. LED lamps are gaining wider popularity in our markets because they are environmentally-friendly, more energy-efficient and cheaper as compared to few years ago. It is our first-time exhibition in this fair. Our major objectives are to gain a better understanding of the lighting market and to look for more buyers from Europe and Southeast Asia. As we offer competitive prices and good quality, we are confident that our LED lamps will attract the attention of our target buyers.”
Kevin Kang, Export Manager, Eupple Lighting Union Limited, Hong Kong
“Our company has acquired the Ford worldwide licence for lighting solutions and home appliances. We are presenting the worldwide launch of Ford lighting solutions at the Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Spring Edition). We have chosen the Hong Kong fair as the launch pad because the fair attracts many quality buyers from all over the world, helping us to promote the whole concept to potential distributors. It is a very good show. Buyers are so excited to see Ford lighting solutions at this fair, and their responses have been very encouraging. We have received a lot of enquiries from many international buyers including those from Europe, South Africa, South America, Southeast Asia and the US.”
Frank Kauer, Managing Director, SKN Global Limited, Hong Kong
